Job description
- Rigger:
- Perform rigging works in accordance with safety and quality requirements
- Ensure rigging works are carried out according to the applicable rigging standards and best practices
- Verify the equipment and materials are in good and safe operating conditions and report any anomalies to Foreman
- Ensure coordination with the adjacent works to minimize coactivities and avoid unsafe conditions
- Follow the permit-to-work statement
- Ensure the housekeeping of the work location
- Control the work activity of the riggers and delegate their work
- Ensure that the work area is clean and tidy
- Keep properly stored the rigging slings
- Be familiar with and maintain awareness of the relevant Company requirements and, where applicable, the last industry codes and standards including statutory rules and regulation
- Ensure the certification of all rigging and lifting arrangements for vessel equipment, for the use in a suitable condition
- Ensure that all rigging operations are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the instructions given
- Ensure that only certified gear is used during lifting operation
- Monitor the condition of all lifting gear before and during the use and report any damage
- Provide Tool box at the beginning of his shift and JSA if required
- Perform any additional duties with own experience and capability as advised by the 1st Assistant and Deck Foreman
- Support the maritime team during mooring/unmooring vessel and spread
- Report unsafe working condition, any near misses and incidents
- Stop the lifting activity if required from safety reasons and if the continuation could cause any damage or injury
Rigger Foreman:
- Experience as rigger in offshore activity (minimum 1 year)
- Experience on construction vessels
- OPITO rigging/lifting certifications (or similar)
